UltraCell (R) Corporation, founded in 2002 and based in Livermore, California, is a privately held company that is commercializing the Reformed Methanol Micro Fuel Cell (RMFC) technology developed by the United States Department of Energy's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). The technology provides portable electronics devices with clean, renewable power. The firm is known for its compact, lightweight XX25 (TM) RMFC product. The fuel cell, which is the size of a standard hardback book, delivers up to 25W of continuous power.
