MacroSystems Digital Video AG, founded in 1990 and based in Wetter, Germany, is known for its Casablanca digital video editing systems. Originally, the firm developed Atari ST emulators, hard disk controllers, and other products for the Commodore Amiga. Its first video product, the DeInterlace card for the Amiga, was introduced 1991. In 1992, the company developed the Vlab video digitizer. Two years later, MacroSystems Digital Video introduced the VLab/Motion film post-production system and the MovieShop video editing applications. In 1997, the company developed the Casablanca nonlinear video editing system. MacroSystems Digital Video's products are employed by professional and semi-professional users. Programs are offered in a wide range of languages. MacroSystems Digital Video maintains offices in the U.S., Austria, France, Belgium, and Switzerland. It works with distributors in the U.K., Scandinavia, South America, and South Africa.
