Xerox (R) Corporation, founded in 1906 as The Haloid Company, develops a variety of copying, printing, and publishing systems. The firm offers clients digital presses, laser and solid ink network printers, copiers, facsimile machines, and other products. The company also provides customers with online document archive development, print shop and mailroom management, and other services. The firm's Business Group encompasses product development, engineering, acquisition, manufacturing, and marketing operations. The group produces the iGen3 (R) digital production press, DocuPrint (R) network printer, Xerox Nuvera (TM) and DocuTech on-demand printers, FreeFlow (TM) print workflow management system, and WorkCentre (TM) workgroup printer. Xerox also is known for its SMARTsend scanned image distribution and Xerox Phaser (TM) network printing products. The company also produces imaging supplies and paper. The firm is based in Stamford, Connecticut. It maintains five research and development centers worldwide. The Xerox Innovation Group includes the Imaging and Services Technology Center, Wilson Center for Research and Technology, and the Canadian and European Xerox Research Centre units. Palo Alto Research Center Incorporated (PARC), established in 1970 and incorporated in 2003, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Xerox. PARC is known for its development of the DocuPrint network printing software. The Xerox Engineering Center manages the DocuShare (TM) document management software unit. Xerox Intellectual Property Operations (XIPO) works with external company IPValue Management in licensing the Xerox portfolio of 8,000 patented technologies. Xerox maintains a direct sales force. It also works with authorized resellers. Fuji Xerox, a joint venture between the firm and Fuji Photo Film Company Limited, markets Xerox products across Asia. It was established in 1962. Xerox systems are used by commercial and government organizations across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Xerox is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the XRX symbol. The Haloid Company changed its name to Xerox Corporation in 1961.
