Unidym Incorporated, based in Menlo Park, California, is a majority-owned subsidiary of Arrowhead Research Corporation. Unidym develops carbon nanotube (CNT) materials and products. The company holds multiple patents on its CNT technologies. Unidym has developed a transparent electrode for touchscreens, flat panel displays, solar cells, and solid state lighting. The company is developing thin film transistors for printable electronics and flexible displays. The firm also has developed CNTs for conductive polymers, structural reinforcement materials, and anti-static films. Unidym's products are based on research conducted Dr. Richard Smalley, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1996, and by Dr. George Gruner of UCLA.
